Biography
Sonya Mollema graduated with First Class Honours in Law from Queen Mary University of London in the United Kingdom. While at Queen Mary, she was a student advisor with the QMUL Legal Advice Centre and Clifford Chance.
Prior to law school, Sonya completed a Master’s Degree in Political Theory at the University of Oxford with a focus on legal theory. In her spare time, she founded the Canadian Students Society and served as its’ inaugural President. Sonya was also selected by the High Commission of Canada to represent Canada at Commonwealth Day hosted at Westminster Abbey.
Prior to Oxford, Sonya attended the University of British Columbia where she majored in Politics, Philosophy and Economics (PPE). At UBC, she was awarded the Vice Chancellors Award for Outstanding Academic Achievement and was a Dean’s List student. Outside of her studies, she worked as an Undergraduate Teaching Assistant in the Philosophy Department and as Academic Support for the Disability Resource Centre.
Outside of the office, Sonya prides herself on being a Vancouver foodie, avid hiker and spends quality time with her two very yappy miniature Schnauzers.
